It has been two years since I first tried to make greeting cards. Due to time limitations, I abandoned this plan after a few failed attempts. Then a few weeks ago I got a customer request for San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge greeting cards. So I pulled out my card stock and gave it another […]
As it has been a very long time since my last post so I thought to show you two images from last night. With them I wish you a wonderful holiday season!
Yesterday we went for a short hike to the top of the Hörnli, our local mountain. It is only 1,133 meters (3,717 ft) high, but still much higher than the surrounding hills. Often this is the escape to see the sun when the lower elevations are covered in fog. We arrived a bit too late to see […]

I am happy that I took this shot well before sunset and not too soon before the sun disappeared for good. […]

I always enjoy seeing the Eiffel Tower at night when visiting Paris! Even better is taking images from a location I haven’t been before. Thanks for the rain, I got this nice reflection in the granite. Next I went down to the Seine to get a different perspective.

By mid-afternoon the first rain comes, which is very welcoming as the temperatures drop. After 30 minutes the rain is over and the sky starts to clear. Last […]
This morning I posted some images of a gorgeous sunset in Bandon, Oregon [link] and now we get the same treat tonight here in San Francisco! What a coincidence! I just stepped outside to capture the glowing read sky with the silhouette of the top Bernal Heights with its trees and antennas. What a start […]
I continue my pursuit of monochromatic images created using slow shutter speed. These two images were taken from the Sutro Baths ruins (wikipedia), a former indoor swimming pool built in 1896 by Adolph Sutro and destroyed by a fire in 1966.
