This form may be used to search for photos in the photo albums and on the blog.
Please have a look at the search help on how to refine your search term(s).
Photo Search Help
Search accepts required and omitted terms, and defaults to “OR” behavior. “OR” behavior means that a search for “california bridge” would return all hits for either “california” OR “bridge”.
To require a term, use “+” (plus); following term would ensure that only images of bridges in California are found:
+california bridge
To omit a term, use “-” (minus); this would return all images from bridges outside of California:
bridge -california
To search a string of words as if it were a single term, wrap it in either single or double quotation marks:
"San Francisco"
To require or omit a string of words, add the “+” or “-” sign within the quotes:
bridge "+San Francisco"

With the shelter-in-place order in San Francisco, I was wondering what I would do, photography wise. From my balcony, I regularly take images from Bernal Heights. So Stay safe and well! Image Gallery Slideshow
I spent some time today with a friend who wanted to learn more about solid and graduated neutral density filters. After some theory lessons, we went to the beach to practice. While my focus was not on taking pictures, I ended up with some keepers and a new project idea: Calmness Calmness is the mental […]

A few years ago I experienced an annular eclipse in Redding, CA (link). This was really spectacular and it was the first solar eclipse I had ever seen. Today’s partial solar eclipse was not that high up on the scale but I didn’t want to miss it. It was a bit foggy here in San […]
This post is part of my Guizhou-China blog post series. Finally the start of our photography tour led by William Yu was here. Below is a simple map that shows a few places where we stopped during the day and where we stayed at night. As you can imagine, we travelled quite a distance. The first day was mostly […]
Lately, I went back to playing with long time exposure (LTE) imagery. Additionally, I like the look of black&white. Here I have a small collection of pictures taken at Boiler Bay and Otter Crest State Wayside during a recent trip down the Oregon coast.
This was the first time ever I saw a solar eclipse in nature. Okay, it was ‘only’ an annular eclipse, but it was beautiful and a great experience. Around us was a big crowd and when the moon moved over the sun and only a circle of light (aka fire ring) was visible, everyone burst […]
