This form may be used to search for photos in the photo albums and on the blog.
Please have a look at the search help on how to refine your search term(s).
Photo Search Help
Search accepts required and omitted terms, and defaults to “OR” behavior. “OR” behavior means that a search for “california bridge” would return all hits for either “california” OR “bridge”.
To require a term, use “+” (plus); following term would ensure that only images of bridges in California are found:
+california bridge
To omit a term, use “-” (minus); this would return all images from bridges outside of California:
bridge -california
To search a string of words as if it were a single term, wrap it in either single or double quotation marks:
"San Francisco"
To require or omit a string of words, add the “+” or “-” sign within the quotes:
bridge "+San Francisco"

How time flies! I took these images last Thursday night and intended to post them shortly afterwards. Obviously I got sidetracked, but now I am finally releasing them to the world. In 1915, San Francisco hosted the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) which primary purpose was to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal. But at the same […]
Today, I visited Michael Kenna’s Focus East exhibit in San Francisco for the second time. I really love his work. If you haven’t seen it yet, the show lasts until December 22nd, 2012 at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery (link). When I went out to photograph sunset tonight, I still had Michael Kenna’s images in my […]
I captured this sunset the other day at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. I was shifting my PC-E lens horizontally while taking this long time exposure. This added additional emphasis on the glowing horizon and vertical gradient while hiding some of the dirt in the sand.
La Patrouille de France is the French equivalent of the Blue Angels. Currently they are on a US tour with their Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jets and an accompanying Airbus A400M. They criss-cross Northern America and had a Golden Gate Bridge flyby here in San Francisco, something I couldn’t miss. The Alpha Jets flew all over the […]
This is the fifth time that I have made a selection of my 10 favorite images of the year. It is always a very informative and fulfilling exercise. Here are the links to the previous year’s selections: 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 My Lightroom catalog tells me that I took almost 20,000 images in 2015. […]
I haven’t been posting images on my blog for a while but this doesn’t mean I haven’t been out shooting. My backlog of pictures waiting to see the light of the day is steadily growing. I have to got to do something about that. Let’s start with last nights photos: Yesterday, I aimed to capture […]
After all these black and white images, it is time for something more colorful. A few weeks ago, I spent the afternoon at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I was really intrigued by the different jellyfishes on display. Luckily I had my camera with me and was able to take a few snapshots. […]
Saturday night we met with friends for dinner at one of our favorite sushi places in Half Moon Bay, Sushi Main Street. I had my camera with me so I could capture images of the sunset before going to the restaurant. While walking along the Pacific Coastal Trail, I found this spot with the putting […]
Capitola is a small coastal town east of Santa Cruz, California, at the northern end of the Monterey Bay. Usually if you are on the pacific coast, you see the setting sun over the ocean. But the Capitola beach faces south east and not west. This means sun sets behind you. Lately we have one […]
This is the second installment of my 10 favorite photos of the year compilation. Here is the link to last year’s favorites in case you want to see them (again). Apart from shooting in my backyard (San Francisco Bay Area), up and down the Pacific coast and in the Sierra Nevada (especially Yosemite), I traveled to […]
