In early January, we spent a weekend at Lake Tahoe. Due to the lack of snow, we went hiking instead of skiing.

The following pictures were taken around frozen Spooner Lake. Thanks to the dusting of snow we got the previous night, there was at least a little feeling of winter.

It was kind of strange. The colors looked more like late fall instead of middle of winter. I specially liked the different layers of colors.

I felt sorry for the tree, but loved the contrast the scars provided.

Spooner Lake is a loverly place. I will go back there to see how it looks like during fall season.
