Today we had a once in a lifetime event in San Francisco: the Space Shuttle Endeavour mounted on top of the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA), a modified Boeing 747, made a low attitude fly-by through the Bay Area on its way to retirement in Los Angeles.
I was on top of Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands and the shuttle passed just next to us. This was really cool!
It is very common to have a fog in San Francisco. Today was no exception. The sunrise was really beautiful and then the fog came in and covered the entire bridge. With the sun high in the sky, the fog burned away quickly. But suddenly a new wave of fog arrived just before the shuttle fly-by. It is like the fog wanted to greet the shuttle as well.
