Over Thanksgiving, we visited Oregon and its coast. We stayed one night in Florence right on the Siuslaw river. When we arrived – pretty late, everything was covered in a thick layer of fog. It really looked mystic and I had to take some pictures before having dinner.
Right next to the hotel were several pylons and this old bridge that still carries the Oregon Coast Highway 101. In order to take this image, I sneaked into the garden of the neighboring hotel. I found an even better spot the next morning, but the fog was gone and so was the mystic. Oh well, this has to wait for another time.
It was really cool to see all these posts and pylons in the water. I didn’t have a lot of time, but still managed to get a few shots.
In the morning, since no fog was hiding the other side of the Siuslaw river, we finally could see the Oregon sand dunes.
Here’s another look at the Siuslaw river bridge. This time from underneath, revealing all these gothic arches.
