Today we arrived in Vernazza, which is one of the five towns in Italy’s Cinque Terre. During the day, the clouds in the sky looked very promising, but eventually they totally blocked the sun. I am happy that I took this shot well before sunset and not too soon before the sun disappeared for good.

A bit later that night and about 30 minutes before sunset, I made this capture. This is a 60s exposure that really smoothens out the water while still retaining the structure of the clouds. The light and color in the clouds show how the sunset might have been with a clear horizon.

In preparation for my Open Studios Exhibition (link), I tried to capture some night scenes as well. This is one of the last shots before I finally headed to dinner.
