For a few days, work brought me to Paris. So far the weather was good and today was the first time that I got wet. It seems like I always attract rain while I am here. Tonight after dinner on my way home, I saw beautiful reflections at the recently renovated Place de la République. I couldn’t resist to go straight to the hotel to grab my camera.
The main reason to come back was to capture the monument in the middle of the Place de la République with its reflection on the wet ground. It was difficult to find an angle where the monument was sufficiently illuminated with enough ground space for the reflection. Eventually I settled for this scene.

A new addition to this square is the stylish café “Monde et Médias”. Since I was out there shooting, I didn’t take the time to stop and have a drink, but the inside looked very inviting.

Continuing my quest of finding reflections, I happened to see this scene. Looking at the developed image, I am happy that I stopped.

Since it had stopped and it wasn’t too cold, I continued to wander around. Eventually I ended at this little tree lined park close to my hotel. I turned into a sepia toned black&white image because the color temperature of the different lamps were fighting each other.

Vélib is the bicycle sharing program in Paris and there are all over the place. Right now they ave about 14,000 bicycles and more than 1000 bicycle stations. Every few blocks you find another one. Just love it. One day I will post all my Vélib images in a gallery.

Looking good Daniel. Great that your workflow is so tight you can upload from Paris. Green with envy on your site. Still struggling here with TTG. Best, Russ
