These two pictures were made last weekend in Yosemite National Park, just two days before full moon. Since the moon was already big and high up in the sky, it nicely illuminated Yosemite Falls and the rock face.
But we were not alone out shooting. Some other photographers were doing some light painting in red/orange on the trees. I didn’t like the effect it gave so I went for a simple sepia toned black&white image.
Moving closer to the falls, I avoided the color cast of the light painters. After a few regular shots, I decided to capture an entire series of pictures that I then turned into this startrail image. Cars driving by helped in the creation as well as they illuminated the tree trunks and the grass up front.
