Louis Vuitton Cup – Semifinals 1, Luna Rossa against Artemis Racing

This post is part of my America’s Cup in San Francisco blog post series.

Luna Rossa against Artemis Racing, the first semifinal of the Louis Vuitton Cup here in San Francisco. Everyone was wondering how well Artemis will do in their first race and only on day 9 on their new foaling AC72. It showed that they had a lot of talent on the boat. They crossed the start line and mark 1 ahead of Luna Rossa! Who would have thought of that? But soon afterwards, Luna Rossa’s experience showed in some well executed foiling gybe. With these maneuvers, they caught up with Artemis and left them behind.

Although Luna Rossa got the point, it was a win for Artemis Racing as well. Who would have thought a few months ago, that they would be able to come back after their tragic capsize and do that well! Congrats!

Before the race, Team Oracle had access to the race course and they took advantage with their two boats. It will be another month before they see their first race. So far they look great on the water as well.
